“Back in the day, I needed validation and approval all the frikkin time. I needed to be liked by everyone, and if someone didn’t like me, I redoubled the effort to change their mind. I can see how that was a bit awful and crazy, and whomever got the wrong impression of me back then is perfectly entitled to that opinion.”

“Yeah. But I miss crazy Paul. He was so easy for me to relate to and get to know.”

I arched my eyebrow, questioningly.

“But yes, confident, bulletproof, and has it together Paul of the last couple of years is better, all things considered,” she hurriedly added.
